it's Can't link devices / scan QR #4637, which was closed in a cleanup sweep without a fix Especially message starring is definitely needed.I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates I look forward to seeing these improvements in future updates. It would be great if there was an option to add text and filters to videos as well.Īnyway, I am a big fan of Signal and I believe that its success will depend on its ability to offer a wide range of useful and engaging features. Additionally, the video editor seems to be limited in its capabilities. Adding filters, such as black and white, and the ability to add stickers while editing photos would greatly enhance the user experience. Secondly, I have noticed some areas for improvement in the photo and video editor.

While I do appreciate the inclusion of mobile coin, I believe there are other features that could be prioritized for a messaging app instead. Firstly, I feel that a feature allowing users to star and store messages from particular senders, similar to the one present in WhatsApp, is an essential addition to a basic messaging app. I want to share some of my thoughts about Signal. Is there a way to have this feature enabled again on the PC version somehow? Or do the latest versions of Signal simply not support this anymore, and will always auto-download every media file upon launching the PC version? This isn’t really a big issue in general, but rather an inconvenience sometimes if someone decides to send multiple messages with video content & images a day. This helps with shortening loading times when launching up the PC app on desktop, without having to load multiple messages attached with larger media files. What I liked about Signal’s PC version in the past was, if I had been on the mobile version and viewed the media files already (possible many 30+mb videos & images), I was given a choice whether or not I would have to re-download them again to view on PC. If a user had set (some or all) their media files as “Never” under "Settings > Data Usage > Auto-Download,” they would have the option to click on the media file on both their PC & mobile app to download it (grab from Signal Server). In the past, Signal’s PC version mirrored exactly what users’ mobile settings were, regarding their Auto-Download features for media files (images, videos, audio, documents, etc.). What I’ve been experiencing is for Signal’s PC version, and not its mobile counterparts (iOS/Android). I’m not sure if this was an intended change by Signal, but maybe someone knows something about this.
